In a medium saucepan at medium-low heat, add the sugar, 225 ml of water, lemon zest, and two sprigs of fresh mint. Let the sugar mixture sit on heat for about 6-10 minutes, occasionally stirring, until all the sugar dissolves. Once the sugar dissolves, remove the sugar syrup from heat and let it reach room temperature before use. Once the syrup reaches room temperature sieve it to remove the lemon zest and mint.
Next, in a 1.5 Litre flask, add four slices of fresh lemon and four mint leaves to the bottom.
Then pour to the flask the fresh lemon juice, sparkling water, and sugar syrup made in step 1. Afterward, stir the lemonade with mint using a spatula.
- The lemonade with mint is best served cold. I highly recommend adding ice cubes to each serving cup.
- The lemonade with mint can be stored in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to two days. You can replace sparkling water with water.
