In a cooking pot, add the olive oil on medium-high heat and allow it to get warm for 30-50 seconds. Then add the diced onions, garlic, and grated fresh ginger. Sauté the onions until translucent in color, occasionally stirring, for 3-4 minutes.
Next, add the whole spices and sauté for another minute or two. Now, add the ground beef and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the meat has changed color. Then, add the spices and stir to incorporate.
Afterward, add the peas, and cook for 3-4 minutes or until they have softened.
Then add the potatoes, chopped tomato, coconut milk powder, and boiled water. Stir all the ingredients and make sure that the potatoes are covered with water. Close the lid of the cooking pot, and allow it to simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes, occasionally stirring to prevent the ground beef curry from sticking to the bottom.
Before serving, remove the whole spices and serve the ground beef curry with rice or Naan bread.
- You can use two chopped fresh tomatoes instead of one can of chopped tomato.
- The ground beef curry can be stored in the fridge in an airtight container for up to three days.
- Feel free to add more vegetables if you desire, such as carrots or zucchini.
